Private label lets a distributor or retailer sell under its own name without owning production. It works best when the range is planned before the first order rather than assembled afterwards.
Pick the lines that sell every season
Start with the lines your market reorders — a training football, a mid-grade cricket bat, a school-grade racket. Seasonal and novelty lines can follow later.
Set a clear grade structure
Three grades is usually enough. Each grade needs a visible difference the customer can see or feel, not only a different sticker.
Get the packaging right for your market
Hang packs for wall displays, printed boxes for shelves, bulk poly bags for institutional supply. Decide this before artwork is finalised.
Plan the repeat order at the same time
Keep the approved sample, the artwork files and the specification sheet together. A repeat order against an approved reference is fast; a repeat order from memory is not.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need artwork ready before ordering?
Not to start a quotation. Artwork is needed before the pre-production sample, and it is worth finalising packaging design at the same time.
